His Heart

holds  months of painted prayers within.

Usually a message  for the artwork

comes during the process of painting.

However, this one was different.

Little did I know,

a sweet little worshiper

would find a place in her heart

and a spot in her home

before it even

left for market!

It’s been almost seven years since

this angel painting left with its new found friend…

Its delayed messege

presented itself when a vision

was triggered within the new owner.

One thing is for sure…

God’s timing is perfect!

This message was just as much for me as it was for her!

Maybe, you’ll find something in it for you too…

You may have heard of this sweet noted songbird…

In fact, many of my paintings

have been melodically infused

with the fragrant notes of her praise.

Lauren Daigle

is her earthly name …

but I call her

Miriam!

She uses her gift of worship in song

to usher the masses into His Presence.

She has discovered the treasured truth

that worship sets the captives free!

Each time she opens her gift…

allows others to receive His truth in song.

The life of an Egret…

Can you imagine

what life would be like

as a Louisiana Egret?

One of those southern natives

landed 10 feet from my car,

the other day,

while driving down

our long gravel road.

He just stood there

and stared at me

for a good 5 minutes!

I felt like the Lord

was slowing my hurried heart down

and corraling its beat

into a moment of sweet.

So, I just sat there

and stared right back…

listening for that still quiet voice

to speak…

“You’re going to paint this guy”

“Really?”

His message came as the painted layers

began to process and translate

this orchestrated Egret moment

into the English language…

The LORD ever so gently

unveiled a vision

of HIS manna

falling from the sky…

filling the Egrets world and mine,

his basket and mine,

his heart and mine.

His Word criss crossing our minds

and filling it with HIS peace.

Minnows and Manna!

That’s the take home nugget…

and what I yearn to catch

on a daily basis!

This Egret inspired this little gal

to look for His message

in all my circumstances…

and in whatever crosses my path!

Look at the birds.

They don’t plant or harvest,

they don’t have storerooms or barns,

but God feeds them.. And you are worth much more than birds.

Am I the only one that sees people in wood grain?

So glad Mr. Webster found some others who have the same quirky habit.

Actually, it seems no name is needed at all…

when every ounce of me has been layered throughout the canvas…

Heart, soul, being, and prayerful love …

Since it truly feels like giving birth to something new…

I decided to weave a small k into the corner of these tiny painted worlds…

Josephine is actually my spiritual mentor.

She’s woven into these paintings too…

giving birth to new life

through each story that she tells!

how grateful I am for all the sacrifices

made on my behalf and yours.

Recently,

after threading over 100 small k’s …

I discovered a little wink from the Original Weaver …

When you turn the canvas over and look at its backside…

The tiny k becomes

A red cross!

God’s confirmation…

Honey Child

 was a common term of endearment used.

You really don’t hear it much these days,
but it sure does bring back fond memories

childhood twinkles of molasses slow days
that forced you to savor a moment
whether you wanted to or not…

Now, I’m discovering… .

……… in the MOMENT………
with the potential TO BE golden… .
and filled with honey…

Green Grass Church

Green Grass Church

Be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good, His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endureth to all generations.        Psalms 100:4

While painting this church…

I could see blades of green grass all around it…

and when it came time to focus on the door…

the scripture above came to mind…

and a green leaf settled quietly within its entryway!

Why a green leaf I asked?

And I heard a whisper say…

The purpose of a leaf

is to take in the light

(truth)

of the sun

(Jesus)

And use its energy

(power over darkness)

To process the water

(God’s word)

supplied from the ground

(the current circumstance)

together

with the carbon dioxide from the air…

(His Holy Spirit)

to provide food for the plant.

(to exchange our waste and exhaust & convert it to life in this moment)

Yes…

It’s ok… to go back and reread it!

I did so many times to let it soak deep within…

This process?

Photosynthesis…

Photo… using light

Synthesis… making something new

(He shines light on the darkness to make all things new)

Life emerges when blessings are counted…

Grass turns green

beneath my feet

when the blades around me

are cherished and noted as sweet.

Even doors turn green

opening wide

filled with life…

to places

leading up high…

Church

has those green leaf doors.

Friends

harboring that encouraging Barnabas spirit within

have those leaves…

and oh so many more green leaf invitations

surface

throughout each day!

All things

become life giving

when I start looking for these

green moments within my world…

May we grasp each blade of green

that comes our way today!

Growing up in a small southern town…

in the middle of nowhere,

about an hour away

from all urban arenas…

It was a place

far from distractions …

allowing

all the little growing minds

to intensely explore

their childhood wonders.

We,

as kids,

had the unrealized

and fine opportunity

to use our imaginations

on a regular basis

and to discover

the goodness in a day!

I think about the handful

of treasured friends

in search of makeshift fun

in this tiny speck of a town

we had the privilege

to grow up in…

Sometimes…

we’d dress up

in the craziest of outfits

and pretend to be manikins

in an abandoned storefront

on Main Street…

(Pre-Project Runway)

Sometimes…

we’d pretend to be gourmet chefs

and pull together a 5 course meal for the parents

with whatever was in the pantry…

leaving behind an explosion of a mess

in the appointed kitchen .

(Prelude to Robert Irvine’s Dinner Impossible)

and sometimes…

we’d find ourselves in the cow pastures…

traversing a mine-field

of buttercups and cow poop…

with a handful of firecrackers,

and a box of Fire chief matches…

 We’d all gather around…

honing in on the chosen patty…

and placing a tiny red fire rocket

right square in the middle

of its flattened muck.

 Lighting the threaded end…

We’d run for our ‘stay clean’ lives!

The thrill of dodging the cow crap

Was such a rush…

Now…

50 years of life

has gone through me…

and sometimes…

it appears as if

those imaginary cow patties

are falling from the skies…

where crap sometimes comes from all directions

and life just plain gets hard

for a moment….

If wisdom prevails…

I’ll rewind

my attitude

to the good old days…

of sweet childhood’s simplicity.

with a smile and a giggle…

Remembering…

to look for the thrill in dodging all the crap

and to recall all of the joyful buttercups

that bloomed so profusely

in those fertilized fields.

May we all

learn to bloom like buttercups

through those cow patty days

and make the most of whatever season of life

we find ourselves in!

FULL CIRCLE MOMENTS…

 

I know… God must giggle while watching my amateur attempts to reproduce His beauty with the help of a palette knife and a dab of paint… but I do think it makes His heart smile when He sees me stopping and soaking in the Magnificence of the moment. You just can’t do art and not be in the moment… with HIM! Some may not even realize just Who they’re hangin’ with and just Who made that moment happen for them while painting its Splendor!  But, oh so many do acknowledge His Presence and keep coming back for more!  And then… out of the blue…

 

It’s been almost a year since Sea Worthy was painted on Miramar Beach

while basking in the deep blue

filled with light and soothing seas…

Last week…

Tuesday to be exact!

I finally released this artwork through Josephine’s newsletter

to introduce this little ‘piece of sea’ to JoJo’s new friends

who so graciously signed up to receive!

It was scheduled to post on Autopilot Airwaves.

This would allow my hubby and I a chance to escape our routine worlds …

and find a place far far away in a foreign land…

some 1680 miles…

near the deep blue sea!

While nestled into our sweet retreat…

watching the early sun rise above her bold blue stage, 

I somehow remembered

‘this is the morning that Josephine’s newsletter is scheduled for take off’…

Ding!

Today’s modern day ‘Apple’ that tempts the Eve in me to leave yet another bite mark …

aka… my iphone…

nibbling into my peaceful moment…

with its familiar ding 

notifying me…

SeaWorthy had made its way to the cyber portals of a whole new set of eyes

with roots shooting deep into well-formed hearts…

And then…

I look up from the Ding-makin’-thing…

(please take note my sweet rooted hearts on the other end of this message…

take note that many moons have passed since the little red k signed this little Sea off into its own being…

Take note that on that morning …)

and this is what

I see….

 

I look up and literally see

SEA WORTHY

center stage…

no paint, no canvas, no palette knife, no lil red k …

Creation at its finest…

present tense

harmonizing with a palette of

sky, water, sand and one lofty cloud…

His Breath and mine…

all captured in a glance…

One moment in time !

.

A little wink and a big nod from the One 

who is in charge of every detail in our bubbled worlds.

What a comfort to know…

with a simple sound of a ding…

He is calling forth the scene with a full-blown orchestra

pursuing our every moment

with His endless array of unseen instruments… 

all playing a mysteriously perfect melody

for each of us to dance

to this tune called life!

I pray this strengthens the strings of your heart in knowing…

He’s got the need. He’s got the problem.  He’s got the hurt.  He’s got the comfort.

Whatever is troubling you…

Just know….

He’s Got This!

He’s in your scene!
