The call came Friday
at 3 in the afternoon…
“Your biopsy shows
it’s positive for cancer…
and it’s very aggressive!”
She felt like somebody
had kicked her in the gut…
Then denial…
“No way!”
“I’m not gonna see my kids graduate…”
“How can I tell my parents?”
Being a single mom,
left with two teenage boys…
working 7 days a week …
trying to make ends meet…
her mind raced…
her faith weakened….
“I’m scared!”…
Everything,
suddenly came
to a screeching halt!
She carried those weighted words for 4 weeks
through chemo, sickness, fatigue…
As her body walked into
another painful mammogram…
the fear within,
continued to forge ahead
with its strongholds…
she felt like her world was collapsing.
Then a radiologist…
divinely placed in her path…
walked over …
held her…
and whispered hope into her ear…
“God knows the end before the beginning…
and the path has already been laid out.
So, you don’t need to carry around
all the fear and worry any longer
cuz God has it all under control.”
Feelings of immediate relief took over…
“I felt like I had been carrying
around all these weights
and finally I put them down.
Looking back…
it was a blessing!
Now, I have a deeper faith…
a closer walk with God…
I appreciate life so much more…
Now, when I get anxious about things…
I put whatever it is …
in God’s hands!”
This painting was created for a dear friend…
to share her story of light
discovered in the darkness
that so many are walking through today …
Psalms 139
sung through my brush strokes
as this image slowly emerged
from its canvas.
“If I go up to the heavens,
you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths,
you are there…”
Tears of blue streaked across the canvas
searching for comfort
only to be found by the Maker
of the golden crux.
Tears
searching for streams of life and love
to flow through…
calling out to the One
who receives and relieves
each drop.
One by one…
they are caught…
One by one…
we are found
and raised
from the ground!
Attempting with paint …
quite humanly…
to capture this path…
You know the one…
the mysterious one…
illuminating our journey…
uniquely so…
And then
a tranquil golden line
is found…
defining our calling…
our purpose…
our true identity!
It is honest,
unruffled…
homebase,
if you will,
between two realms
of unseen worlds…
It is here…
in the highs
and the lows…
It is here…
where we go
deeper still…
And discover
a haze of golden goodness…
It is here…
we grab hold
of our
Beloved
in the heavens…
and in the depths
of our despairs…
These are the moments
where truth is found!
These are the moments
that reveal
the light and strength
of our Maker
truly lives
within.
Trails of glistening pixiedust
begin to surface through the paint…
hovering above and below
the horizon (her-eyes-on) line…
tuning itself to the rhythmic beat of a heart
with no attack
to be seen
but only
life
with its peaks and its pits.
This is living in the ups and the downs…
as ones’ heart scans and traverses
through its chosen path…
in the joys and the sorrows…
where childlike faith greets the world around.
This is life!
May we
SEE
throughout our journeys…
that it is woven
with Golden Hopes
and may we catch
tHis splendor
all along the way.
May we whisper
Hope
to those who are fighting this battle with cancer…
There are so many ways we can help our loved ones during this season…
a warm hug, a listening ear, a prayer, a visit filled with positive light and laughter…

What a beautiful message of hope!! This must have meant so much to your friend to have this wisdom and encouragement all come together in these words and art! I know it’s all HIM but it’s so incredible how you allow HIM to move and have HIS being in and through you☝️‼️
Thank you my friend! HE IS truly incredible to watch when we move out of the way and let Him flow right on through. I’ve seen that beauty flow through you too and it is such a gift to experience. Love you!!!!

Oh Kim this surely hits the mark for my family! I also have a very young friend who is battling breast cancer stage 3-C.
