a tangled mess
blending in with the moss
of the cypress trees!
Thankfully,
I’m getting back
to that little girl
with curious eyes
about the world…
floating around
in childlike
wonder!
…
You may not know this…
but I grew up
in the middle of nowhere
in a small farming town.
A favorite memory
was seeing the green crops
full of life
lining up into rows
as we’d drive looooong distances to get
SOMEWHERE…
This little town was made up
of the most delightfully unique people
each with a story of their own to tell…
a best seller for sure
if it were ever captured into print….
Such great memories!
At the time…
Imagination
was being developed
without my knowing …
to be used
at a later date
…
no tv’s,
no stoplights…
just me
and the world around
to explore.
Now…
It seems Picasso was right…
when asked
how long did it take you to paint this piece?
His answer:
“My whole life”
Looking back…
I can see
‘my whole life’
in the many painted worlds
that have been moving in and out
of my heart and home…

of life’s influences
have surfaced
their way onto each canvas
